Failed Solar Eruption of a Multithermal Flux Rope

چکیده
Abstract A magnetic flux rope (FR), hosting hot plasma, is thought to be central the physics of coronal mass ejections. Such FRs are widely observed with passbands Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board Solar Dynamics Observatory that sensitive emission from plasma around 10 MK. In contrast, observations warmer (around 1 MK) counterparts sparse. this study, we report failed eruption a multithermal FR, both and warm plasma. On 2015 May 1, channel appeared in AIA high-temperature out southeastern solar limb south nearby flare, then erupted outward. During eruption, it rotated perpendicular erupting direction. The stopped erupting, disappeared gradually, showing eruption. sequentially low-temperature passbands. It underwent similar evolution, including rotation, disappearance, channel. bright compression front formed images. Under eruptions, small flare occurred, upon which several current sheets, connecting channels underneath Investigating spatial temporal relation between channels, suggest twist together, constituting same FR has high low temperatures.

متن کاملThe Helicial Flux Rope Structure of Solar Filaments
According to J. B. Taylor’s relaxation theory for magnetized plasmas, helical flux ropes should be the fundamental building blocks of magnetism in the solar atmosphere. Although flux ropes are clearly ejected from the Sun, there has been some controversy about whether they exist in the sun’s atmosphere before ejection. The issue is important because of the need to understand how eruptions are i...
متن کاملCatastrophic eruption of magnetic flux rope in the corona and solar wind with and without magnetic reconnection
It is generally believed that the magnetic free energy accumulated in the corona serves as a main energy source for solar explosions such as coronal mass ejections (CMEs). In the framework of the flux rope catastrophe model for CMEs, the energy may be abruptly released either by an ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) catastrophe, which belongs to a global magnetic topological instability of the sys...
متن کاملReconnecting flux-rope dynamo.
We develop a model of the fluctuation dynamo in which the magnetic field is confined to thin flux ropes advected by a multiscale model of turbulence. Magnetic dissipation occurs only via reconnection of the flux ropes. This model can be viewed as an implementation of the asymptotic limit R_{m}-->infinity for a continuous magnetic field, where magnetic dissipation is strongly localized to small ...
